Phasianidae
galliformes
Birds
Incubation for 18 to 20 days.
4 to 6 eggs.
Omnivorous, it feeds on fruits, worms, insects, larvae, seeds and green leaves.
About 8 years.
The male is dark blue, sometimes blackish in some areas and with a large red crest, a white stripe on the forehead and a red caruncle around the eye. The female is greenish throughout its plumage, except for the wings, which are brown, and the head, which is completely gray. When the chickens are born, they are a chocolate color. After 4 or 5 weeks, they are flying quite well and have all their colors. These partridges make their nest on the ground, hidden among the vegetation.
To look for food they dig in the ground, but unlike other chickens, they only use one leg to do so.
