School visits
2024-2025
BIOPARC Fuengirola recreates some of the most important and biodiversity-rich habitats on the planet. In them it is possible to see amazing species in carefully constructed areas, based on what is called zooimmersion.

For the 2024/25 school year, we have prepared a program so that the excursion is fun and educational:

  • Activities with different teaching materials, included in the 3-hour visit, to ensure the fun of your students.
  • Our three-hour guided tours can be extended with half-hour or one-hour workshops, adapted to the different educational stages: Preschool, Primary, Secondary and Baccalaureate.
  • Types of visits HERE.

In addition, we offer you the option of making the visit in ENGLISH, free of charge.

To make this experience possible, we put at your disposal a team of professionals who will advise you in a personalized way in order to create the excursion tailored to your class, cycle or group.

MEETING WITH TEACHERS

Constant communication and collaboration with teachers is very important for the proper development and improvement of our educational activities.

During the school year, We will hold several meetings with the teaching staff during which our Education Department will meet with teachers who wish to learn about our school offer (upon prior registration). During these meetings, we will visit one of the areas of the park, review the latest developments in the current School Offer and listen to your opinions and suggestions.

ID CARD FOR TEACHERS

For attending this meeting, teachers will be presented with the Teaching Card (CaD). For more information about the conditions, write to us at educacion@bioparcfuengirola.es

Did you know that...
In recent months, numerous events have occurred that will make your visit much more special. Below, you can discover some of them, but we could have chosen many others just as important:

Incubation of loggerhead turtle eggs

This past summer a loggerhead sea turtle once again chose a beach in the province of Malaga to lay almost seventy eggs. Of them, nine have been incubated in a controlled manner by our Herpetology team. One more year, we repeat a mission that has been a complete success. The next step will be to wait until August 2024, when all the turtles will be released into the sea!

A new male tapir arrives: Mekong!

Mekong has arrived to form a pair with Rawa, our female tapir. After an adaptation process in which the male has shown to have a friendly nature, both already share a facility and now coexist in an extraordinary way! In the wild, the population of this species has halved in the last thirty years. Today there are just over two thousand specimens left, 44 of them in zoos in Europe.

Birds of passage in our wetlands

The drought that the Andalusian wetlands have been suffering in recent years means that many migratory birds stop at BIOPARC Fuengirola to feed or drink. On the tour, you may see birds that are not part of the park, but that make it their home for a few days: gray herons, egrets, egrets, etc.

A great circuit of living estuaries

We have a complete water circuit made up of authentic rivers and waterfalls. More than 2.200 cubic meters of totally drinkable fresh water, filtered mechanically and naturally, without any type of chemical product that prevents life in them. In them they enjoy baths, hydrate themselves and, of course, they are essential for their lives, as is the case with hippos, ducks or crocodiles.

Sensory enrichments for animals

If there is one job of keepers that guarantees that animals continue to maintain their natural instincts, it is to carry out enrichment. Marking trunks with different scents is, for example, one of the most frequently done to Sumatran tigers. In this way, we activate the patrol behavior of this feline.

Surprise! New black lemur calf

The birth of this little one has been a surprise for BIOPARC Fuengirola. Among the more than one hundred lemurs that inhabit the island of Madagascar, the black one is one of the most endangered. Now, this little black one, with bright eyes and fascinating behavior, can be seen jumping and playing from palm tree to palm tree.

KIDS MENU

BIOPARC promotes attitudes of interest, care and respect for nature. We do it through the areas of this educational stage: self-knowledge and personal autonomy, knowledge of the environment and language, through communication and representation.

PRIMARY

In addition to key competencies, We work with special attention on the “living beings” block, based on evaluation criteria such as observing the different animal species in the environment or interpreting and recognizing the main components of ecosystems.

HIGH SCHOOL

Among the contents we work on are the influence of abiotic and biotic factors on ecosystems, life cycles, classification systems of living beings, etc. For each cycle, different criteria and competencies are defined and this is how we transmit them.

HIGH SCHOOL

From environmental conservation to representations of civilizations, we cover all types of high school. Besides, We are committed to their future and collaborate in their training.
