BIOPARC Fuengirola opens its doors for the new school year and turns nature into a classroom for thousands of schoolchildren

BIOPARC Fuengirola launches its 2026/2027 school program, with guided tours, workshops, and educational activities adapted to all levels, from preschool to high school. An experience to learn about biodiversity and conservation in the heart of nature.

Can a field trip become a classroom? At BIOPARC Fuengirola, it can. With the start of the new school year, the park is once again transforming its grounds into a large open-air classroom so that thousands of students have the opportunity to learn surrounded by nature and, above all, to experience firsthand what they study in the classroom.

BIOPARC Fuengirola launches its 2026/2027 school program, an educational initiative designed to support schools throughout all educational stages, from preschool to high school. This program is based on a simple premise: nature sparks questions, evokes emotions, and offers endless learning opportunities, regardless of the observer's age.

During the visit, students explore the park's diverse habitats and get up close to species from some of the most biodiverse regions on the planet. Equatorial Africa, Madagascar, Southeast Asia, the Indo-Pacific, and Central and South America make up a journey through the world's rainforests, where each encounter with an animal becomes an opportunity to discover how it lives, what it needs, and its relationship with its environment.

An experience that grows with the student

A four-year-old doesn't learn the same way as a high school student. Nor does a student visiting BIOPARC for the first time perceive a gorilla, a crocodile, or a bird in the same way as someone already familiar with biodiversity and ecosystems. Therefore, the educational program adapts content, language, and activities to different school levels, ensuring that each visit is meaningful and enriching for the group.

In the early stages, curiosity and discovery are the main drivers of the experience. Observing, recognizing, comparing, or asking questions about animals allows for the introduction of concepts related to living things and the environment in a relatable and particularly stimulating way.

As age increases, the visit allows for a deeper exploration of issues related to ecosystems, biodiversity, species adaptations, relationships between living beings, and the main challenges facing nature conservation.

Thus, the same space becomes a different classroom for each age, in which the curricular content finds a real scenario.

Three hours to discover, observe and learn

BIOPARC Fuengirola's school program for this academic year includes three-hour guided tours, accompanied by educational materials and various educational proposals that can be adapted to the characteristics of each group.

The centers can complement the visit with 30 or 45 minute educational workshops, designed to delve deeper into different topics and get students actively involved in the learning process.

In addition, the program offers the possibility of completing the experience in English at no extra cost, an alternative that allows you to integrate language learning with knowledge of nature.

When what is learned can be seen

Knowledge takes on a new dimension when it's no longer confined to a book but experienced firsthand. Direct observation allows us to understand behaviors, discover adaptations, identify species characteristics, and establish connections between animals and the ecosystems they inhabit.

But the experience is not limited to acquiring knowledge. Direct contact with nature also awakens emotions and curiosity, two elements that can become important allies in learning.

“We want the visit to BIOPARC to be much more than just a field trip. We want each student to leave having discovered something new, but also eager to continue asking questions about nature,” explains the Education team at BIOPARC Fuengirola.

This perspective directly connects with one of the fundamental objectives of the educational program: to know in order to understand, and to understand in order to value and protect. Bringing biodiversity closer to young people allows us to show them the importance of ecosystems and the species that inhabit them, and to foster an attitude of respect for the natural environment.

A journey through the world's rainforests

The school experience unfolds through the BIOPARC Fuengirola tour, designed as a journey through different tropical regions of the planet. From the rainforests of equatorial Africa to Madagascar, passing through Southeast Asia, the Indo-Pacific, and, as the latest addition, the rainforests of Central and South America.

With the start of the school year, BIOPARC Fuengirola is once again opening the doors of its unique classroom in the heart of nature, a space where each age group finds its own way of learning and where a school visit can become an experience that lasts long after returning to school.

Because some classes are remembered for what was learned in them. And others, for what was in front of you while you were learning.
