With the month of March comes spring, the most exciting time in nature's calendar. Winter ends and all wildlife begins to awaken from its long slumber. Many animal species wait for this warm season to enjoy it, a few months that become the perfect time to observe nature, its fauna and flora, its habits and learn about them. To this end, starting next March 2, BIOPARC Fuengirola offers its visitors an extensive program of free activities to awaken interest in the environment and the need to protect the species that live there.
Through these novelties, which complement the existing activities, the park's technical team will bring visitors, young and old, closer to the reality of threatened species, the natural habitats in which they live or discover the exciting world of nature and its conservation. These will be able to enjoy an unforgettable experience.
Guided tours, meetings in the local environment, children's activities and camps
This programming for the months of March, April, May and June will begin next weekend, March 2. On this day, the BIOPARC Fuengirola Education team travels to IKEA Málaga to bring the little ones closer to the fascinating world of Komodo dragons. They will learn about this magical reptile in a very fun way.
The agenda will continue on days March 16 and 17. On the occasion of World Sparrow Day, Children and adults will be able to get to know this special and endangered species, entering the world of ornithology. The team will wait for interested visitors at the BIOPARC Fuengirola flamingo viewpoint, at 12:00 p.m. This month will end with a new and long-awaited edition of the Easter camp “Aboard the Beagle”. Designed for boys and girls, ages 6 to 12, this quote is the perfect opportunity for little ones to explore and learn while having fun in the middle of the tropical jungle. The month of April begins on the 6th with a new event at IKEA Málaga, this time to discover some curious and emblematic animals of the island of Madagascar: lemurs.
By popular demand, BIOPARC Fuengirola incorporates into its programming one of the activities most in demand by visitors: the world of insects. April 27, The Education and Herpetology team travels to the Parque de las Presas de Fuengirola. This natural space in the town will host this family activity in which they will learn about the fascinating world of insects and will be able to participate in a workshop where they will create safe and welcoming shelters for these small beings.
In this spring program, on May 11 and 12, the interesting guided tours will continue to get to know the park and the magic of its route in depth, observing and learning about dozens of species. At the end of this month, on May 25 and 26, “The Magic of Biodiversity” will take place, a fun workshop in which to discover the secrets of the different habitats on the planet.
The last month of activities will begin with a new appointment at IKEA Málaga to meet one of the most peculiar and dangerous species that lives in BIOPARC Fuengirola: the cassowary. The little ones will be able to participate in it on June 1 in the play center of this shopping center.
On June 15, Los Boliches beach in Fuengirola will host the “Turtle in sight” meeting
An activity in which attendees will participate in the work carried out by the BIOPARC Fuengirola team in the conservation of loggerhead turtles that have nested years ago on different Malaga beaches.
The program concludes with the summer camp “The 5 wonders of BIOPARC”. From June 24 to 28, five days of adventure to explore the natural world and immerse yourself in the recreations of temples and ruins of ancient civilizations in the conservation center's tropical forest.
