The Jungle Clearing BIOPARC Fuengirola Thursday's premiere of The Guardians of DawnThe park's new nighttime show. The first performance open to the public sold out completely and kicked off a special program that can be enjoyed every Thursday in July and August.
As night fell, the space transformed into the stage for a performance inspired by the symbolic universe of the Mayan civilization. Through dance, acrobatics, live percussion, and fire choreography, the show unfolds a story in which nature and the balance of the world take center stage.
A show inspired by Mayan culture
The performance brings together characters on stage inspired by the Mayan worldview, such as the Ceiba tree, a sacred tree that connects the sky, the earth, and the underworld; the Jaguar, the Moon, the Monkey, the Bird, Fire, and the Corn Seed. Each of them symbolizes one of the essential forces of nature, building a narrative that combines acting, movement, and visual elements.
The costumes, elaborate headdresses, and characterization of the performers, along with a stage design that blends seamlessly into the park's natural environment, all contribute to creating an immersive experience for the audience. The use of fire and the performers' close proximity to the audience make this nighttime spectacle one of the top cultural and leisure offerings of the summer in Fuengirola.
A show that connects culture, nature and conservation
Beyond its artistic dimension, The Guardians of Dawn It takes as a reference point the close relationship that the Mayan culture maintained with nature and conveys a message about the importance of preserving the balance between people and the natural environment, an idea aligned with the mission of conservation, environmental education and awareness that it develops BIOPARC Fuengirola.
Following the sold-out premiere, the show will continue to run every Thursday in July and August at Claro de Selva. Tickets for the upcoming performances are now available through the official BIOPARC Fuengirola website.
