The BIOPARC Foundation presents a special series of screenings in Fuengirola as a prelude to the new edition of the Wild Oceans FilmFest , the international film festival dedicated to nature, biodiversity and ocean conservation held in Gijón.
The initiative will bring to the Fuengirola House of Culture a selection of productions recognized in previous editions of the festival, offering the public the opportunity to approach, through cinema, some of the most surprising stories about marine life and the challenges facing our planet.
The series will kick off in September with two major titles: Soul of the Ocean , from Austria, and Ocean with David Attenborough , a British production released in 2025. Screenings will continue throughout October with new titles to be announced soon.

September 15 — Soul of the Ocean
The first appointment will be on September 15 with Soul of the Ocean (Austria, 51 min, 2022), a production of Howard Hall Productions and Terra Mater Studios.
The film offers a different perspective on the underwater world, moving away from the image of the ocean as a place dominated by struggle and predation. Through spectacular underwater footage, it shows the importance of cooperation between species and how the complex relationships among ocean inhabitants have contributed to the development of its extraordinary biodiversity.
The film thus invites us to discover that, beyond the survival of the fittest, collaboration and interdependence constitute an essential part of marine life.

September 22, 20:00 p.m. — Ocean with David Attenborough
On September 22nd, it will be the turn of Ocean with David Attenborough (United Kingdom, 85 min, 2025), a production of Silverback Films and Open Planet Studios for National Geographic and Disney+.
The renowned naturalist and popularizer David Attenborough embarks on a journey through the planet's oceans to showcase their extraordinary richness and explain why their good condition is fundamental to the health and balance of the entire planet.
Coral reefs, kelp forests and the open ocean star in a visually stunning film that also addresses some of the major threats currently affecting marine ecosystems, such as destructive fishing practices and coral bleaching.
But Ocean with David Attenborough is, above all, a story of hope. The film gathers examples of recovery and conservation from different parts of the world to convey an optimistic message: the oceans have an extraordinary capacity for recovery if we are able to protect them.
October 20, 20:00 PM – Sea of Shadows
Leonardo DiCaprio's stunning and award-winning National Geographic Documentary Films production , Sea of Shadows, focuses on the vaquita marina, the most endangered marine mammal on the planet, with only 7 to 10 individuals remaining. Despite this critical situation, thanks to conservation and scientific efforts, there is a glimmer of hope for its survival.
October 27, 20:00 PM – Blue Carbon
Blue Carbon: Nature's Hidden Power, produced by CNN Films and widely distributed worldwide, connects scientific research, marine conservation, and contemporary culture.
With this series, the BIOPARC Foundation aims to help the public appreciate the value of biodiversity and foster greater awareness of the need to conserve marine ecosystems. It's an opportunity to enjoy the best nature films and, at the same time, discover stories that remind us that understanding our oceans is also the first step in protecting them.
