FILTRATION, DECANTATION AND REUSE OF WATER AT THE BIOPARC

This project aims to implement an advanced system for recovering and reusing the water used to clean the glass filters in the park's estuaries. The proposed solution significantly improves efficiency compared to traditional sand filtration systems, reducing water consumption and optimizing available resources.

The facility includes a 35 m³ lamellar clarifier, a 12 m³ sludge thickener, and an ultrafiltration system with chemical treatment. This technological setup allows for the purification and disinfection of wastewater, transforming it back into a useful resource for reuse within the park's facilities.

Project objectives
  • Efficiency: Recover the water from washing glass filters to minimize waste.
  • Sustainability: Reuse treated water for irrigation and cleaning of facilities.
  • Waste reduction: Managing sediments through a sludge thickening system that allows for cleaner and more efficient operation.
  • Quality guarantee: Ensure complete disinfection of the recovered water through ultrafiltration.
Project data
  • Location: Fuengirola
  • Execution period: From April 24, 2025 to April 30, 2026
  • Total budget: €149.380,55

This project has been co-financed by the European Union, contributing to the improvement of sustainability and efficiency in water management within the park.
