This we will offer a lecture on ”Evolution of the animals on Earth.” The meeting point will be the Nile Crocodile Bridge at 12.00.

In the afternoon, we will celebrate a workshop for children at 16.00 in the playground. You shall bring home your own Earth!

This time, and although the weather was windy and cold, both children and adults could enjoyed a special visit to the Madagascar Island. With the company of an educator and the help of some members of the keepers team, visitors watched the behaviour of the different lemurs species and noted how they acted with some enviromental enrichment activities created specially for them, like a pumpkin filled with fruit and vegetables that they had to catch with their hands throw some holes.

MEET OUR “CHILDREN”

Bioparc Fuengirola has joint this commemoration. Next days November 20 & 21 we will organize a special guide tour in which we will show you, in a special way, our babies. The tour will be focused on the maternal cares, habits and special needs of the last babies born at Bioparc.

You will meet up Banggi, our baby of Bornean Orang-utan, Noelia, our little chimpanzee only three years old or our mouse deer baby, among others. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to get together, live, babies of snakes, tortoise and lizards.

This initiative that we celebrate, exclusively these days, has the aim of children know the nature and the species who are living in it, and learn that everyone are part of environment, and that is the reason it’s essential we preserve it.

SCIENCE WORKSHOPS

Do you know that chimpanzees communicate throughout more than 40 gestures o expressions? Do you that they can construct tools? And, do you know that they are even better than human in some memory tasks?

Despite having been overcast and even rained, we could carry out successfully ourenrichment activities, both in the morning in Africa and Asia in the afternoon.Visitors, especially children, really enjoyed watching the animals ate the same food they had prepared.Thank you all!

What is the “ENVIROMENTAL ENRICHMENT”?

The “environmental enrichment” aims to stimulate the natural behavior of animals and avoid stereotypes caused by inactivity.

Thus, all who join us this weekend will enjoy unique and unforgettable moments with some of the animals of Bioparc Fuengirola: you can see them play, eat and “interact” with some of their keepers.

This weekend, Bioparc Fuengirola becomes “feline territory.” Ankur, the spectacular white tiger about 190 kg, has completed a year’s stay at the zoo and the mall breeding Leopard Sri - Lanka, only 5 months, will be baptized with the help of visitors and users of our social networks.

On Friday we celebrated the first year of Ankur in the park in a very special, with gifts that he loved and could view all our visitors. Among the “gifts”, Ankur found a hollow log with meat and offal into cardboard and a surprise animal shaped shatter with their claws to get inside food as a reward.

This activity is part of what biologists call “environmental enrichment” that aims to stimulate the natural behavior of animals and avoid stereotypes caused by inactivity.

Saturday and Sunday was the turn of breeding Leopard Sri Lanka; you could choose your name through voting in the park, and by mail (comunidad@bioparcfuengirola.es) until Friday, 17. In addition, special tours was offered on these amazing animals and, in the afternoon, a workshop for children in which they could take “his own leopard” home.

• The minimum children for a group of Jungle Adventurers are 5 children.
